The soprano singer Romana Amerling was born in Vienna. She received her artistic education at the Private University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has since worked as a concert, operetta, and opera singer, working with renowned artists and orchestras in the most significant musical centres.
She was a prize-winner at various international singing contests. Among her artistic peaks of recent years were performances as a soloist with Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and her debut at the Haydn Festival Eisenstadt.
During the 2009/2010 season, Romana Amerling was an ensemble member at the State Opera Dresden. In 2011, she sang the main part in Judith Weir’s opera Blond Eckbert at the Bregenz Festival. In 2011, she also had a guest performance at Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen and at the Opera of Odessa performing the part of Susanna (Figaro, Mozart).
Romana Amerling’s specialty lies in concert performance. Her repertoire comprises Johannes Brahms’ Requiem and Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi as well as various cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, which she has performed at notable Austrian concert halls like Wiener Konzerthaus and Wiener Musikverein, and at concert halls abroad (Germany, Scandinavia, South America).
During the current season, she will appear in the new production Soma at the Viennese Chamber Opera and in June 2017 as Eurydice in Jaques Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld at Festival KlangbadHall.
